Process

How the test works.

CoupleTalk is built around one principle: each person answers privately, the report belongs to both. There is no "winner," no scorecard against you, and no third party reading your answers.

Step 1 — One of you pays, both of you get access

The buyer enters two emails at checkout (yours and your partner's). We send each of you a unique private link. Either of you can take the test first; the report is generated when both have finished.

Step 2 — 40 questions across 8 domains, about 18 minutes

The instrument is built from three established frameworks: attachment theory (Hazan & Shaver), the Gottman conflict-style typology, and the Prepare/Enrich premarital inventory used by 4M+ couples since 1980. Questions are scenario-based — "If you lost your job tomorrow…" — not abstract values questions.

The 8 domains: Money, Conflict & repair, Illness & care, Family & in-laws, Intimacy, Ambition, Daily life, and your 5-year future together.

Step 3 — A 12-page joint report, in plain language

Once both of you complete, our model synthesizes both sets of answers into one report:

  • Alignment scorecard (0-100) per domain
  • Your top 5 gaps — ranked by how predictive they are of long-term friction
  • 12 conversation prompts in priority order, with the actual sentences to start with
  • A 30-day check-in plan: what to talk about each week
  • Three "watch-out" patterns specific to your combination

What we don't do

We do not score who is "right." We do not pathologize either of you. We do not save your free-text answers after the report is generated (only the structured scores). We are not therapy.

What happens after

Your report is downloadable forever from your private dashboard. You can re-take the assessment in 90 days for $14 to see what shifted. You can buy add-on deep-dive modules (money values, 5-year vision, conflict style) at any time.

Ready when you are.
